Touch-Up & Refinement Policy
Tattoo touch-ups, refinement and healed assessments
Not every piece needs a touch-up. Every piece and every body heals differently, and I only recommend additional work when I believe the healed result genuinely needs refinement.
Will I need a touch-up?
Not necessarily. Fine line work settles into the skin over the first weeks, and small changes in tone and crispness are a normal part of healing rather than a fault. I assess every healed piece on its own merits.
When can I ask about a touch-up?
Please allow at least 30 days after your appointment before requesting an assessment.
Once your piece has healed, send me clear, well-lit photographs. I need to see how the work has settled before a touch-up is booked.
Complimentary touch-ups
Where genuinely required as part of normal healing, one complimentary touch-up may be offered within 12 weeks of the original appointment, subject to this policy.
A complimentary touch-up is for refinement of the original piece where healing has not been as expected despite the aftercare instructions being followed. It does not cover changes of design, additions, or loss of the piece caused by sun exposure, picking, soaking or aftercare not being followed.
Refinement and additions
If you would like to add to a piece, adjust the design, or refine work done elsewhere, that is a new appointment and is booked and priced in the usual way.
HOW TO ASK
Email hello@bolchatink.com with your name, your appointment date and clear photographs of the healed piece in natural light. I read every message personally and will come back to you within three working days.
